Julia Small curator, maker, leader here at smallhome. This space reflects her work and vision to best represent the talented makers met through years of pop-up markets. We love that no matter how big Good Candle Co gets, Johnathan Kruger drops his candles off to us personally -via pushcart bike :)
Carolyn Suzuki makes us happy. Her cards celebrate life events with pure joy, positivity & simplicity ... we also love her for sharing art supply tips.
Tyler Deeb is the designer behind this rugged, slightly hard-edged brand Miscellaneous Goods. We love the redesign of his playing cards + the no bullshit mantra on the Keep It / Lose It wallets ... but the cuteness factor of his family really needs to stop.
Species by the Thousands & smallhome are Brooklyn Flea pop-up sisters. Braving the elements year after year together , tied tent to tent , you see what a company is made of ... led by Erica Bradbury, their heart is in the right place and their wares stand the test of time.
Bree and Emma of Happy Hour & Co make you want to send more mail, write more notes, celebrate LOUDLY your inside jokes, the just becauses and your happiest of hours.
Michele Lee of Lucky Horse Press and me bonded over a greeting card and first met in a Brooklyn warehouse. It was the good luck bob cat card we carry from Nightingale Projects and the Greenpoint lofts where we're now both pop up regulars. Since that funny meeting she has become a creative inspiration to me and treasured maker here at the shop.
When the Juniper Ridge guys walk into the shop, they bring the whole woods with them - the air is suddenly saturated with the scent of green wet earth, rough bark and burning grass. They never stay in the big city too long so lucky for us they also distill, grind up & bottle the woods to take home.
Red Cap Cards is a collaboration - one big juicy party celebrating art and correspondence. Husband-and-wife team Hal Mertz & Carrie Gifford gather impeccable artists across the illustration, design & literary worlds to contribute to the vast and vibrant scope of this paper goods line.
we love maker moms and Jenny is one after my own heart. Her JKM Brand candles transform any space & she brings her little girl along with her on pop ups - what's better than that?
New York-based design studio Thing Industries specializes in optimistic and adventurous objects for home. Thing became a thing in 2013 when founder Bridie Picot built her own upstate cabin & began filling it with her own designs. Lucky for us, she shares the love ... the boobs, and giant bananas.
Ora North of The Pines Apothecary is holding it down in Minneapolis bringing you authentic and empowered beauty. Clean, all natural skin care to honor you, wherever you’re at.
Chen Chen , Kai WIlliams and me all went to Pratt together studying industrial design. Since opening our doors we are proud to represent their industrial housewares brand Chen & Kai from two such talented, vibrant makers and kindhearted friends.
Victorian era inspired , but tough enough for Brooklyn, designer Natalia Moscoso's vivid imagery & historically based line of work makes her jewelry brand Mother Night the perfect combination of light & dark ... she's also our all time favorite hair cutter. Talented gal.
Fellow native New Yorker & good witch Nicole Rallis adds magic and feminist mysticism through her brand Leila Olive. Adornment & tarot decks guide you through your everyday and make it far from ordinary.
Sarah Hussaini breaks from her corporate architecture life by playing with shapes, colors and clay. Her joy is infectious and lucky for us is available to take home in the form of perfect pitchers, mugs and catchalls.
Most Recklessly is the passion project of moon child Nicole Brunner. She adds magic to every piece she shapes by hand. Her hanging talismans are the perfect good vibe to add to any home or creative space.
Kelsie McNair allows you to wield a bit of personalized art all day long. Her pressed flower phone cases are the closest today's technology can feel like natural beauty. You use your phone every day ... let With Lavender & Lace for smallhome make it really special.
Kate Durkin is one of our favorite NY moms. With 2 kids and another one the way she puts us all to shame spearheading her whimsical illustration line of children's toys and decor. Long live the narwhal pillow -a smallhome favorite since we opened.
